Mesosciene provides a new approach to understand subsystems contributing to complex phenomena. While several phenomena might be accessed by large scale computational methods required by mesoscience, to date this approach was applied in chemical process engineering. Complexity is characteristic for all living systems, where an extreme complexity is represented by the human brain. The largest subsystem of the brain is composed of billions of neurons whose intra-and inter-neuronal communication is still not fully understood. Although both the nonlinear and the dynamical system models emerged from chemistry are applied for neurons, the dynamic interactions between extracellular fluid pathways represent only one of the competing subsystems. Therefore, neuroscience is a possible target application area of the mesoscience approach.
